CONTRIBUTING EDITORS
David E. Kent, M.D.
Derm for Primary Care was founded by David, a board certified dermatologist with a
passion for teaching. He has served on the teaching faculty at the Medical College of
Georgia -
Georgia Regents University and Mercer University Medical School.
David has performed over 33,000 Mohs surgery cases for skin cancer. He is one of a select
number of program directors in the U.S. for accredited ACGME Procedural Dermatology
fellowships
charged with teaching the next generation of Mohs surgery and reconstruction.
David has a passion for clinical dermatology and dermatologic surgery and has been involved
in teaching residents and medical students, assistants, and nurse practitioners for more
than 20
years.

D'Ann Somerall, DNP, MAEd, CRNP, FNP-BC, FAANP
D'Ann is the VP of education at Derm for Primary Care. She is a three-time graduate from the
University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) SON,
earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of
Nursing Practice degree. She retired as an Assistant Professor from UAB, where she served as the
specialty track coordinator for the Family Nurse Practitioner program.
D’Ann continues in clinical practice as an adjunct Assistant Professor for UAB in a nurse-
managed indigent care clinic designed for patients diagnosed with diabetes. She continues to
be involved in the state Nurse Practitioner organization striving to achieve full practice
authority for Alabama NPs.
At DFPC, D'Ann spearheads the creation of content with more than 20 years
as a leader in the field.
Jason M. Cheyney, PA-C
Jason is a certified physician assistant and also serves as the Director of Clinical
Investigations at Skin Care Physicians of Georgia.
After Receiving his MPAS in 1999 from the University of Nebraska, School of Medicine in
Lincoln, he spent 4 years as a physician assistant at the Dermatology Clinic, Malcolm Grow
Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, MD.
Jason has focused on psoriasis and has been a clinical investigator in several phase
III and phase IV trials studying therapies in psoriasis, rosacea, and acne. He has lectured
extensively on psoriasis and is a group leader for the Mid-Georgia Support Group of the
National Psoriasis Foundation.
Kayla McNiece, M.D.
Kayla graduated summa cum laude from Abilene Christian University (2009) and then received
her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (2014).
In 2018, she completed her dermatology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and
became
a member of the American Board of Dermatology. She is currently completing her Mohs
cutaneous
micrographic surgery fellowship.
Sean McGregor, D.O.
Sean is a board certified dermatologist and the current Mohs surgery fellow with Dr. David
Kent. He graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2006 with a bachelors degree in
biology.
In 2010, he completed a doctor of pharmacy degree at the Palm Beach Atlantic University.
After pharmacy school, he attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of
Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 2015. Prior to starting fellowship, he completed his
dermatology training at Wake Forest University Medical Center in 2019.
